Rather than reading a printed page – even on a Kindle or Nook – more and more people want to listen to a book while driving, exercising, walking, or simply relaxing in a comfortable environment. If there’s any doubt about that, NPR ran a program called\u00a0The Growing Popularity of Audiobooks<\/a> on January 29, 2013. We also recommend\u00a0The Coming Audiobooks Boom<\/em><\/a> printed in The Atlantic<\/em> in September 2011.<\/p>\n

However, the quality of the audiobook is becoming more and more important. It’s no longer sufficient for just anyone to read a book into a microphone. Today’s standards require a professional approach with both the voice and the recording equipment, as well as the final editing.<\/p>\n

How many finished hours will you book be? You can roughly estimate that 9,000 words will equal 1 finished hour. For example, if your book is 60,000 words long, it will mean it will be about 6-7 hours long as an audiobook and cost $2400-2800 to produce.<\/p>\n
